Is a low cost holiday in Ortisei possible?
Even in busy periods you can find a way to stay overnight. My advice is to book with Booking using the discount coupon “invite a friend” or offers present.
That said, hotels in which to stay overnight are many, but in the medium – low range you will find quite similar solutions to each other. The hotel that I recommend is the Pradell hotel, located above the town of Ortisei but easily accessible by car.
A good compromise as you can enjoy a magnificent view over the city and the late afternoon enjoy relaxing in the new all-wood spa.
If you decide to take a family holiday you can stay in the new rooms, all in wood too.
The landscapes in Val Gardena are beautiful, so the recommended activity is trekking in the vicinity of Sassolungo .
The easiest and closest excursion is to the church of S. Giacomo which is located near the village of the same name just above Ortisei and can only be reached on foot in about 5-10 minutes.
The walk will allow you to see magnificent landscapes and to pass near a farm with Lama’s breeding.
